Inclusive Education

"Inclusion is a philosophy, which embraces the idea that everyone has something of value to contribute, and that everyone has the right to belong." — Lisa Friedman.

Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School& Jr. college in Vashi, Navi Mumbai has students from various states, belonging to various strata of society, following various religious paths, speaking various languages. This picture of diversity also includes children with disabilities and children from socially and economically impoverished backgrounds. Our mission is to foster a holistic environment wherein every child in the school is encouraged and supported to attain the highest level of his/her potential. Therefore, inclusion is integral to the functioning of our school system.

Philosophy of Inclusion

At Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School & Jr. college, we accept the truth that every being in this universe is here by design and not by chance. So we see every individual as an integral and unique part of a divine design! And what is integral and unique cannot be overlooked or excluded. Our policy of inclusion stems from the belief that ‘being inclusive’ means, being able to look for and find the strengths in every child. Using those strengths to teach and facilitate learning paves the way for the journey of Inclusive Education.

This philosophy implies acceptance of differences. Inclusion is not viewed as an add-on to the identity of our school. It is intrinsic to the vision, mission, values and practices of the school. It empowers all people, the young, the old, the abled and the disabled.
